Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work ‘Untitled (Large Hadron Collider No.4)’, 2007 by Simon Norfolk. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,019.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon Norfolk have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Former Teahouse in a park next to the Afghan Exhibition of Economic and Social Achievements in the Shah Shahid district of Kabul in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,624.78).
