Auction result well in line with expectations
The work ‘Untitled (Large Hadron Collider No.2)’, 2007 by Simon Norfolk was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,019.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon Norfolk have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Former Teahouse in a park next to the Afghan Exhibition of Economic and Social Achievements in the Shah Shahid district of Kabul in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,624.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit ‘Untitled (Large Hadron Collider No.2)’, 2007 von Simon Norfolk kam im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.019,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Norfolk auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Former Teahouse in a park next to the Afghan Exhibition of Economic and Social Achievements in the Shah Shahid district of Kabul im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.624,78).
