Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Conversation Piece; Two Toucans by Simon-Albert Bussy was worth GBP 20,000.00 (€ 22,584.10) to a buyer in March 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Made in Britain at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Simon-Albert Bussy; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Deux perroquets sold at auction in March 2021 with the realized price of EUR 37,800.00.
