This artwork by Simon-Albert Bussy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2020. In the Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz auction, the work Portrait Of Jane Bussy, Daughter Of The Artist sold for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,814.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Simon-Albert Bussy; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Deux perroquets sold at auction in March 2021 with the realized price of EUR 37,800.00.
