Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bridge With Two Chairs: A Poem By Wallace Stevens by Siah Armajani was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,813.00 (€ 1,997.73). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Siah Armajani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Americantomb For Neema in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,649.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bridge With Two Chairs: A Poem By Wallace Stevens von Siah Armajani im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.813,00 (€ 1.997,73) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Siah Armajani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Americantomb For Neema im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.649,97).
