Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (Tube Twisted Tube Broken tube) by Shusaku Arakawa for GBP 28,000.00 (€ 32,619.69). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 35,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Shusaku Arakawa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vertical Thought in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 156,776.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (Tube Twisted Tube Broken tube) von Shusaku Arakawa für GBP 28.000,00 (€ 32.619,69) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shusaku Arakawa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vertical Thought im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 156.776,91).
