Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2007 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work How High the Moon by Shirō Kuramata. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 57,600.00 (€ 82,717.39), 15% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shirō Kuramata - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Miss Blanche' chair, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 2,240,000.00 (€ 255,777.86).
