Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work There is No Border Here by Shilpa Gupta. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,639.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shilpa Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 42,267.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit There is No Border Here von Shilpa Gupta zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.639,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shilpa Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Someone Else: A Library of 35 Books Written Anonymously or Under Pseudonyms im September 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 42.267,31).
