The »bidding war« ended at HKD 299,000.00 (€ 28,373.55), 36% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shi Guoliang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Life In Countryside, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 1,035,000.00 (€ 101,314.93).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Cao Xueqin von Shi Guoliang wurde im Oktober 2013 in der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink Paintings (I) bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 299.000,00 (€ 28.373,55) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Shi Guoliang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Life In Countryside beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 1.035.000,00 (€ 101.314,93) versteigert wurde.
