In October 2013 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese Contemporary Ink Paintings (I), which included the work Girls Under The Banana Tree by Shi Guoliang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 322,000.00 (€ 30,556.13), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shi Guoliang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Life In Countryside, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 1,035,000.00 (€ 101,314.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2013 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink Paintings (I) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girls Under The Banana Tree von Shi Guoliang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 322.000,00 (€ 30.556,13) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Shi Guoliang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Life In Countryside beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 1.035.000,00 (€ 101.314,93) versteigert wurde.
