Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy Including Property from the Chokaido Museum Collection, which included the work Willow Tree Alongside The Lake by Shen Zhou. The price achieved of HKD 2,250,000.00 (€ 257,511.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,800,000.00 – 2,800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shen Zhou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy And Landscape Of 'Zhang Gong' Karst Cave in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 23,150,000.00 (€ 2,820,982.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy Including Property from the Chokaido Museum Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Willow Tree Alongside The Lake von Shen Zhou zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.250.000,00 (€ 257.511,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 1.800.000,00 – 2.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shen Zhou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy And Landscape Of 'Zhang Gong' Karst Cave im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 23.150.000,00 (€ 2.820.982,23).
