Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Pine And Rocks by Shen Zhou. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 95,904.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Shen Zhou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy And Landscape Of 'Zhang Gong' Karst Cave in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 23,150,000.00 (€ 2,820,982.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pine And Rocks von Shen Zhou zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 800.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 95.904,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Shen Zhou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy And Landscape Of 'Zhang Gong' Karst Cave im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 23.150.000,00 (€ 2.820.982,23).
