In May 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings I & II, which included the work Chrysanthemum And Sparrows by Shen Zhongqiang. The result of HKD 18,000.00 (€ 1,808.00) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shen Zhongqiang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Autumn Chrysanthemums, which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,268.59).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings I & II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chrysanthemum And Sparrows von Shen Zhongqiang zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 18.000,00 (€ 1.808,00) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shen Zhongqiang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Autumn Chrysanthemums beobachtet, die im April 2019 für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.268,59) versteigert wurde.
