A top price for Shen Zhongqiang
When the work Autumn Chrysanthemums by Shen Zhongqiang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 12,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,268.59). This high result makes Autumn Chrysanthemums the most expensive artwork by Shen Zhongqiang that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Shen Zhongqiang
Als die Arbeit Autumn Chrysanthemums von Shen Zhongqiang im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 12.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.268,59) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Autumn Chrysanthemums zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Shen Zhongqiang, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
