Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Contemporary Sale, which included this untitled work by Sergei Volkov. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,132.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sergei Volkov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paintings in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 85,250.00 (€ 108,663.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Russian Contemporary Sale durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Sergei Volkov zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.132,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sergei Volkov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paintings im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 85.250,00 (€ 108.663,16).
