It achieved a price of GBP 19,700.00 (€ 24,748.09), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 31%. Admittedly, works by Sergei Volkov have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paintings in October 2008 with an auction result of GBP 85,250.00 (€ 108,663.16).

Die Arbeit Two (From The Series Blackboards) von Sergei Volkov kam im März 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 19.700,00 (€ 24.748,09) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 31%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sergei Volkov auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paintings im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 85.250,00 (€ 108.663,16).
