Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Cz Dveri Doors, Diptych by Sergei Volkov for GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,368.71). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Russian Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 45,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sergei Volkov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Paintings, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 85,250.00 (€ 108,663.16).
