Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September this year Bonhams in London held the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Four Oversized Woodblock Prints by Junichiro Sekino. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,664.00 (€ 1,572.18). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Junichiro Sekino - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Yoshida Bungoro, which sold at auction in March 2001 for USD 3,525.00 (€ 4,008.41).
