Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work Profile Portrait Of Girl In Purple Kimono Bunraku Scene Boy With Dog by Junichiro Sekino for USD 250.00 (€ 181.46). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Junichiro Sekino achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yoshida Bungoro in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 3,525.00 (€ 4,008.41).
