In October 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Linga by Syed Haider Raza. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,927.60), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Syed Haider Raza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tapovan in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,452,500.00 (€ 3,614,042.21).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Linga von Syed Haider Raza zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.927,60) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Syed Haider Raza erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tapovan im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.452.500,00 (€ 3.614.042,21).
