A top price for Syed Haider Raza - as previously expected
The work Tapovan by Syed Haider Raza was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2018. The price achieved of USD 4,452,500.00 (€ 3,614,042.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Tapovan is the most expensive artwork by Syed Haider Raza that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Tapovan von Syed Haider Raza wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.452.500,00 (€ 3.614.042,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Tapovan das teuerste Kunstwerk von Syed Haider Raza, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
