A top price for Syed Haider Raza - as previously expected
The work Tapovan by Syed Haider Raza was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2018. The price achieved of USD 4,452,500.00 (€ 3,614,042.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Tapovan is the most expensive artwork by Syed Haider Raza that we have observed at auctions so far.
