Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Café, Paris by Saul Leiter was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. The price achieved of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,929.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Saul Leiter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow, which sold at auction in May 2021 for GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,990.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Café, Paris von Saul Leiter wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.929,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Saul Leiter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.990,59) versteigert wurde.
