Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Sarah Morris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October this year. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Science and Technology sold for GBP 78,120.00 (€ 89,703.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sarah Morris; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot "Paradigm (Los Angeles)" sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of EUR 126,438.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Sarah Morris erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Science and Technology für GBP 78.120,00 (€ 89.703,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sarah Morris; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit "Paradigm (Los Angeles)" im Mai 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 126.438,00.
