Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Composición Nro. 23, En Rojos by Sarah Grilo was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 23,229.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sarah Grilo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mi Buenos Aires querido, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 60,480.00 (€ 54,520.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Composición Nro. 23, En Rojos von Sarah Grilo wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 23.229,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sarah Grilo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mi Buenos Aires querido beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 60.480,00 (€ 54.520,87) versteigert wurde.
