In June 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings Including German, Austrian and Central European Paintings, The Orientalist Sale, Spanish Painting and the Scandinavian Sale, which included the work Spanish jardín De Las Elegías, Son Moragues, Valldemosa (Garden Of The Elegies, Son Moragues, Valldemosa) by Santiago Rusiñol i Prats. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 217,250.00 (€ 264,196.22), 21% above the upper estimate. Other works by Santiago Rusiñol i Prats have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 216,000.00 (€ 320,533.14) in June 2007 for the work Glorieta de cipreses del Jardín del Príncipe, Aranjuez (The gardens at Aranjuez).
