Auction result well in line with expectations
The work El Poblet, Biniaraix, Majorca by Santiago Rusiñol i Prats was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 108,100.00 (€ 152,419.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Santiago Rusiñol i Prats - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Glorieta de cipreses del Jardín del Príncipe, Aranjuez (The gardens at Aranjuez), which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 216,000.00 (€ 320,533.14).
