In November 2018 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work White Mountain Scenery by Sanford Robinson Gifford. The »bidding war« ended at USD 432,500.00 (€ 381,965.91), 73% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sanford Robinson Gifford have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Lake Twilight in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,900,000.00 (€ 2,601,130.15).

Im November 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit White Mountain Scenery von Sanford Robinson Gifford zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 432.500,00 (€ 381.965,91) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sanford Robinson Gifford auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Lake Twilight im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.900.000,00 (€ 2.601.130,15).
