Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Sanford Robinson Gifford could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work A Study Of Hunter Mountain At Twilight changed hands for USD 175,000.00 (€ 143,513.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sanford Robinson Gifford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lake Twilight in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,900,000.00 (€ 2,601,130.15).
