In the 19th Century American Art auction, the work Sketch for 'A Catskill Study' sold for USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,021.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sanford Robinson Gifford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lake Twilight in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,900,000.00 (€ 2,601,130.15).
