Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Study For 'Morning In The Adirondacks, 1867' by Sanford Robinson Gifford. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 52,500.00 (€ 48,143.05). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sanford Robinson Gifford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lake Twilight in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,900,000.00 (€ 2,601,130.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study For 'Morning In The Adirondacks, 1867' von Sanford Robinson Gifford zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 52.500,00 (€ 48.143,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sanford Robinson Gifford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Lake Twilight im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.900.000,00 (€ 2.601.130,15).
