In December 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping by Samuel Scott. The price achieved of GBP 481,250.00 (€ 542,866.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Other works by Samuel Scott have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2016 the work Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping was auctioned for GBP 473,000.00 (€ 562,026.33).
