Auction result well in line with expectations

The work An English man-o'war saluting the flagship as she gets underway from her anchorage by Samuel Scott was sold in the Important Maritime Art auction at Christies in London in October 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,100.00 (€ 31,737.05) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping At Anchor In The Thames Estuary, Near Wapping in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 473,000.00 (€ 562,026.33).

Die Arbeit An English man-o'war saluting the flagship as she gets underway from her anchorage von Samuel Scott wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion Important Maritime Art bei Christies in London versteigert.
