Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work The red scarf, portrait of Jeannie Blyth 41.5 x 34 cm. (16 5/16 x 13 3/8 in.) Painted in c.1902 by Samuel John Peploe. The price achieved of GBP 50,250.00 (€ 59,532.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel John Peploe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Tulips in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 992,750.00 (€ 1,121,976.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion The Scottish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The red scarf, portrait of Jeannie Blyth 41.5 x 34 cm. (16 5/16 x 13 3/8 in.) Painted in c.1902 von Samuel John Peploe zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.250,00 (€ 59.532,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel John Peploe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life with Tulips im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 992.750,00 (€ 1.121.976,68).
