Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art, which included the work Still Life with Coffee Pot by Samuel John Peploe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 214,200.00 (€ 251,490.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Samuel John Peploe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Tulips in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 992,750.00 (€ 1,121,976.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life with Coffee Pot von Samuel John Peploe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 214.200,00 (€ 251.490,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel John Peploe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Tulips im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 992.750,00 (€ 1.121.976,68).
