Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Pink Roses in a Vase (recto); Still Life with Wine Glass and Fruit (verso) by Samuel John Peploe for GBP 112,500.00 (€ 133,282.12). This price was achieved in the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Samuel John Peploe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Tulips in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 992,750.00 (€ 1,121,976.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pink Roses in a Vase (recto); Still Life with Wine Glass and Fruit (verso) von Samuel John Peploe für GBP 112.500,00 (€ 133.282,12) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel John Peploe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Tulips im Juni 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 992.750,00 (€ 1.121.976,68).
