The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 120,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at USD 505,000.00 (€ 343,818.08). This high result makes Becalmed in the Highlands the most expensive artwork by Samuel Colman that we have observed at auctions so far.
