Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipping on the Hudson by Samuel Colman was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 94,500.00 (€ 83,724.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel Colman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Becalmed in the Highlands in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 343,818.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shipping on the Hudson von Samuel Colman wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 94.500,00 (€ 83.724,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel Colman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Becalmed in the Highlands im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 505.000,00 (€ 343.818,08).
