Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British Sketching The Ruins Of Tintern Abbey by Samuel Colman was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,379.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Colman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Becalmed in the Highlands in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 343,818.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit British Sketching The Ruins Of Tintern Abbey von Samuel Colman kam im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.379,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Colman erzielen.
