Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Samuel Colman could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Genesee Meadows changed hands for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,330.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Colman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Becalmed in the Highlands in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 343,818.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Samuel Colman konnte im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Genesee Meadows für USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.330,67) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Colman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Becalmed in the Highlands im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 505.000,00 (€ 343.818,08).
