Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work A River In Italy by Samuel Colman. The price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,626.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Colman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Becalmed in the Highlands in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 343,818.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A River In Italy von Samuel Colman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.626,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Colman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Becalmed in the Highlands im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 505.000,00 (€ 343.818,08).
