Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Close Screen by Sam Moyer was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,935.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sam Moyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flo's Fern in September last year with an auction result of USD 42,840.00 (€ 43,790.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Close Screen von Sam Moyer im September 2018 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.935,98) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sam Moyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flo's Fern im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 42.840,00 (€ 43.790,25).
