In July this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art, which included the work Abandoned Pier by Sally Michel Avery. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,219.60), 69% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sally Michel Avery have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blue Mug in May last year with an auction result of USD 88,200.00 (€ 82,191.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 69 % übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abandoned Pier von Sally Michel Avery zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.219,60) und damit 69% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sally Michel Avery auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blue Mug im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 82.191,78).
