Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
The work Curious Cows by Sally Michel Avery was worth USD 56,700.00 (€ 51,358.70) to a buyer in April this year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern American Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sally Michel Avery; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Blue Mug sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 88,200.00 (€ 82,191.78).
