Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sally Mann achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the Photographs auction, the work Jessie in the Wind, 1989 sold for USD 69,300.00 (€ 62,771.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sally Mann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Candy Cigarette, which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 257,000.00 (€ 205,107.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sally Mann erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Jessie in the Wind, 1989 für USD 69.300,00 (€ 62.771,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sally Mann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Candy Cigarette beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 257.000,00 (€ 205.107,74) versteigert wurde.
