Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Two Skeletons) (from 'Body Farm') by Sally Mann was sold in the Dance of Death auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,328.00 (€ 3,050.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sally Mann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Candy Cigarette in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 257,000.00 (€ 205,107.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Two Skeletons) (from 'Body Farm') von Sally Mann wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Dance of Death bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.328,00 (€ 3.050,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sally Mann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Candy Cigarette im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 257.000,00 (€ 205.107,74).
