Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Untitled (S.073, Hanging Single Sphere, Five Layer Continuous Form within a Form) by Ruth Asawa for CNY 2,400,000.00 (€ 323,152.71). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) at Christies in Shanghai and was even below the estimate range of CNY 2,700,000.00 – 4,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Asawa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,095,000.00 (€ 3,716,308.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Untitled (S.073, Hanging Single Sphere, Five Layer Continuous Form within a Form) von Ruth Asawa für CNY 2.400.000,00 (€ 323.152,71) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) bei Christies in Shanghai erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von CNY 2.700.000,00 – 4.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Asawa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (S.387, Hanging Three Separate Layers of Three-Lobed Forms) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.095.000,00 (€ 3.716.308,19).
