This artwork by Russel Wong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. In the Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction, the work Yulong River, Yangshuo, China sold for HKD 56,250.00 (€ 5,031.82) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Russel Wong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bamboo Forest, which sold at auction in May 2007 for HKD 204,000.00 (€ 19,424.96).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Russel Wong erzielte im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Yulong River, Yangshuo, China für HKD 56.250,00 (€ 5.031,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Russel Wong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bamboo Forest beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für HKD 204.000,00 (€ 19.424,96) versteigert wurde.
