Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Russel Wong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Fisherman on Li Jiang river at dawn sold for HKD 96,000.00 (€ 9,141.16) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Russel Wong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bamboo Forest, which sold at auction in May 2007 for HKD 204,000.00 (€ 19,424.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Russel Wong erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Fisherman on Li Jiang river at dawn für HKD 96.000,00 (€ 9.141,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Russel Wong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bamboo Forest beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für HKD 204.000,00 (€ 19.424,96) versteigert wurde.
