Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work The majesty of Huangshan, Huangshan, China, 2007 by Russel Wong. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,087.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Russel Wong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bamboo Forest in May 2007 with an auction result of HKD 204,000.00 (€ 19,424.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The majesty of Huangshan, Huangshan, China, 2007 von Russel Wong zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 3.087,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Russel Wong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bamboo Forest im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 204.000,00 (€ 19.424,96).
