This artwork by Russel Wong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Bamboo Forest sold for HKD 204,000.00 (€ 19,424.96) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 95,000.00. This high result makes Bamboo Forest the most expensive artwork by Russel Wong that we have observed at auctions so far.
